R+P Post 18: Our test shoot

In preparation for our test shot there are several formal things that must be written and signed. Firstly, we must send out reminders to all our actors and receive confirmation messages from each one. We also must fill out both the shoot board and shoot organization in order to have the kit released to us and lastly we must finalize the choreography.

After having completed the above, we are now ready for our test shoots next saturday and thursday.  We have decided that our actors will not be required to wear their final costumes because it is only a test, but we have asked that they bring them in for us to confirm. Our actors have been taught the choreography and will be required to replicate what they have learnt, on the test shoot.

Here is some footage from the shoot:

Overall, the shoot went very smoothly. All the actors new their roles and had remembered the choreography. They were also very quite, well-behaved and easy to work with, making it easier for us to deal with the technical difficulties. The problems we encountered were primarily to do with the lighting however, we have planned a session to work out an alternative and find a solution to this issue. All in all, the shoot was very positive and we will have a lot to look at and improve when editing together our rough cut.
