R+P Post 16: Casting

After having identified the different stereotypical roles, gaining inspiration from the representations seen in the canteen scene 'Mean Girls', we have established around 15 different characters that we would want to be represented in our opening sequence. We have then split these different roles into cliques and in total we have produced 6 social groups; the chavs, the geeks, the goths, the athletes, the outsiders and the hipsters.

We are now deciding upon the different actors that we think can represent the correct connotations effectively. We are going through an auditioning process to do this and eliminating any potentially problematic actors. We are also looking to create a cast with a range of ethnicities and backgrounds in order to realistically represent a multicultural British society.

We have now produced list of 13 actors that seemed compliant, reliable and right for the parts, here it is:
Our main character; Arthur

Arthur: Michael Gargaro (as seen on the right)

Chavs:
-Okkor Habibi
-Godgift Emesi

Geeks:
-Seth Hoskins
-Ela Yokes

Hipsters:
-Alisha Shah
-Luke Eves
Our chosen actors

Outsiders:
-Amy Bauco

Athletes:
-Monica Adj
-Najid Rehman
-Willem Troost

Goths:
-Seb Curtis
-Shayam Utting

Now that we have created this list, we will be sending out a formal letter to all of our chosen actors that states; the days in which they will be needed, the expectations that are expected, their role, the costumes they will need and finally a reply slip that confirms their commitment to our project.

We have then created a Facebook group and added all of our actors, as this will enable us to keep in contact with them easily and quickly notify them of any changes or reminders. Ontop of this we have decided to create a Whatsapp group chat for Ela, Gift and I as it will enable us to discuss our project and further advance it, without being together at school

Here are some of the posts that we ended up sharing:
